Brr... I don't know about where you're from, but Ohio is getting cold. Thankfully, Misha Gericke has stopped by to discuss her hot new release, The Vanished Knight. ;) Take it away, Misha!

Ten Reasons Why You Should Read The War of Six Crowns
So, I’ve been around to plenty of blogs recently, so you might have seen The Vanished Knight’s cover, read the blurb, and thought that you might want to read it. And if you’re on the fence about whether you should buy my book, you might want to read this list on why The War of Six Crowns is awesome.
- It’s a portal fantasy with a difference. The doors go both ways in real time. And they never go away.
- The Nordians. If you read my book, you’ll get what I mean.
- Although the book’s written for the YA audience, it doesn’t underestimate the reader’s intelligence. I wrote it, assuming that the reader would be able to keep up.
- I created all my characters and countries to be complex.
- Everything that’s happening in the book and series has a good reason. Mostly, it’s because someone’s pulling the strings, but otherwise everything has a history.
- The series isn’t called War of Six Crowns for no reason. The war’s coming, init’s just a matter of how and when.
- The main characters aren’t saving the world because they’re the chosen ones. They’re doing the best they can with what they have because they chose to step up.
- The sequel’s out next year. And it’s good. Do you really want the added pressure of reading two books in quick succession? Because trust me, you won’t be able to put them down.
- The characters from earth all have very good reasons why they’re in the other world.
- I wrote it. ;-)
What do you enjoy about reading fantasy novels?
About the Book:
Since the death of her parents, Callan Blair has been shunted from one foster family to another, her dangerous secret forcing the move each time. Her latest foster family quickly ships her off to an exclusive boarding school in the Cumbrian countryside. While her foster-brother James makes it his mission to get Callan expelled, a nearby ancient castle holds the secret doorway to another land...
When Callan is forced through the doorway, she finds herself in the magical continent of Tardith, where she’s shocked to learn her schoolmates Gawain and Darrion are respected soldiers in service to the king of Nordaine, one of Tardith's realms. More than that, the two are potential heirs to the Black Knight—Nordaine's crown prince.
But when the Black Knight fails to return from a mysterious trip, the realm teeters on the brink of war. Darrion and Gawain set out to find him, while Callan discovers there is more to her family history than she thought. The elves are claiming she is their princess.
Now with Darrion growing ever more antagonistic and her friendship with Gawain blossoming, Callan must decide whether to stay in Nordaine—where her secret grows ever more threatening—or go to the elves and uncover the truth about her family before war sets the realms afire.

Congrats on your book, Misha. I love high fantasy stories and ones that enter new worlds through portals. Yours sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing about it.
Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
That last one made me laugh!
Oh, nice Misha. I like this list. Nordians? You definitely spiked my curiosity. And the cover is beautiful by the way.

Hi, Carrie. *waves* Sorry I'm late to the party. Been baking pies and thawing a turkey all day long.
What kind of pies? Did you bring any to share? :D
Me too! It's a good reason. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Natalie! :D
LOL! Love it! You know, I used to be timid about bragging my own work up. But really, there's no reason. If it's awesome, it's awesome, and yours is awesome. =)
(Hi Carrie!)
Spoken like a true marketer! *wipes away tear*
Hi, Crystal!
THIS: "The main characters aren’t saving the world because they’re the chosen ones. They’re doing the best they can with what they have because they chose to step up."

Hehehe thanks Liz!
Hahaha yeah that would be super awesome!
Thanks David!
It's cold here in Texas too, but not unbearable. Congratulations on your novel, Misha. Great cover, and the word castle caught my attention. Castles fascinate me. Magic and princes and princesses are good too. Best of luck with your novel.
I guess that means the holidays are upon us, Beverly! :)
Oh, cool! I'll check it out. :) Thank you!
