Dear Readers,
You know I love you guys, right? There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for your support and encouragement. In fact, if you were here, we’d go out for coffee.
I'd scrounge around until I found enough change in my car, and we'd waltz in like we owned the place. You’d get something caffeinated, and I’d order green tea. Then we’d sit at a cozy little table in the corner and people-watch, whilst discussing our WIPs...
But then, out of nowhere, I’d jump up and thrust my cup in the air! You, of course, would be mortified, but I wouldn’t notice. Possessed by the attitude of gratitude, I’d climb up on my stool and… serenade you.
Yeah, I went there.
Have you ever heard the chorus of “Thankful for You”? (Skip to about 00:50) I’d use my empty cup as a microphone and do my best TobyMac impression. “I’m thankful for yooooooooooooou!” Somewhere in the middle, I’d bust out my sweet, sweet dance moves—the kind only a writer can pull off—and you’d love it.
Or at least, you’d pretend to. Secretly, you’d record the whole thing on your phone and upload it to Youtube. Within a matter of days, you’d have a million hits on “Author Kills Career,” and the ad money would pour in. Before you knew it, you’d be able to quit your day job and write or read full-time!
That is how much I appreciate you. ;)
Love,
Carrie

That was hilarious Carrie! Promise, I wouldn't put it on YouTube.
Can I bring ear plugs?
And, you never know, I probably would join in to show how much I appreciate your help too :o)
Ha, love this! I would definitely appreciate being serenaded. :)
I love the coffee cup as a mic image. I'm a shower-with-shampoo-bottle-mic kind of gal. This is a fortunate thing for the masses who will never hear my rendition of Aretha Franklin's RESPECT. Great blog hop idea. :)
LOL, excellent post! I'll be over for my serenaded coffee as soon as I can! ;)
I love this fantasy! Hah hah hah.
"I’d bust out my sweet, sweet dance moves—the kind only a writer can pull off" - is that like Elaine from Seinfeld by any chance?
Hilarious! You rock.
that was so cool! hey, i think i could arrange a coffee hook up, neighbor! a spontaneous serenad sounds awesome!
I'll take you up on that cup of Chai tea. :)
You're great, Carrie!
Out for caffeine...I'm there, with my camera phone at the ready. :)
Carrie, darling, maybe you should rethink the green tea. I've heard of this happening before. Lovely, normal lady, consumes too much green and turns into a Irish Rover. There is help, dear. But you have to seek it out. Holler, I'm sure someone will hear. Ooh, the eagles are gathering. You know what that means...
"You like me! You really like me!" We like you, too, Carrie.
"It's like a full-body dry heave set to music!"
Hahahaha... still laughing...
Carrie, you are beyond awesome.
And I love the STRENGTH countdown!!!!!!
I can ALWAYS count you on you to brighten my Monday morning! You're hilarious! Just remember, there are many of us out here who appreciate you just as much!
Too funny! Thanks for the serenade!
*Grins* Thank you, Alex. You're a good friend!
Hah! Wouldn't that be a show? Our duet would go viral!
And no, no ear plugs allowed. :P
Thanks, Meredith! You better hope we're never at the same conference or event. I just might try it. *grins*
Hee, how funny. I promise it wouldn't go on youtube ;)
Thank you for joining in the bloghop!
Now that's the kind of appreciation I can really get behind!
I'll sing it with you! And then go on for the encore I'm sure people will be begging from us ;)
That kept me rolling. Do you need a background singer?
Hah! I'm with you there. The shower is my favorite place to sing.
Thank God no one hears those concerts! LOL
Heck yes! Come visit the states, and it'll happen. ;)
Hah! Yes, it will be very much like Elaine's dance. *grins*
Thanks, Lisa!
Hi Carrie,
I'm glad I found you. I'm looking forward to getting to know more about you and your work. You're cool!
made me laugh! Glad to know you're so grateful.
Heck yes! The Great Ohio Serenade is on, Tara! :D
Uh oh. "Butler" is kind of Irishy, anyway. Where's Mark Koopmans when we need him? He'd know a way out of this!
Maybe I'll just get decaf coffee...
*grins* Thanks for stopping by, Joylene!
Haha! I knew I could count on you, Ilima! ;)
Thanks, Empress King! :) Here's to hoping I really can get you a cup someday!
Thanks, Jeff! :D
Thanks, Morg! ;) I cannot wait for you guys to read it!
As we are thankful for you! Right back atcha. ;)
That was hilarious, Carrie! Cute too! I'm thankful for ya, too!
I would be dancin' and singin' along with you and tell everyone who bump into us, "We met online and we've been best buds since um, last year! And we belong to the wonderful online writing community which we both love!" We would both embarrass each other! :) Hahaha
I was waiting at Scarbrooks Coffee and no one showed up... probably everyone is training for the Stripper Blogfest :)
That would be awesomely fun, Carrie. I'd join you for the dance and buy you a scone.
If we ever meet in person, I'm holding you to it. ;)
Oh, you know it! hahaha xD
Yeah, Mark, we are all in training for the upcoming blogfest of yours! Let's do some exercises and get pumped up! Oh yeah, let's do it! Hahaha! :)
Thank you, Nancy! I don't know what I'd do without you guys. *hugs*
Anytime, Sherry! ;) Thanks for stopping by!
Serenade and dancing. I like it!
What are you waiting for? *holds phone camera impatiently*

Phew! ;) Thanks, VikLit! It's been a lot of fun!
Why thank you, Lee! I appreciate your appreciation. ;)
Yes! The Cassie and Carrie duet hour! ;)
Always! :D Hop up on a stool, Angela. We'll sing a duet!

I'm glad, Prerna! ;) Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks, Lydia! :)
Thank you, Livia!
Mutally embarrassing, hm? I love it! I'm sure everyone would enjoy our free concert. They'd be swaying and holding up lighters and cell phones! Haha :)
Why do you think I hopped up on the stool? I'm ready for the Stripper Blogfest! LOL
Aw, what a wonderful post! I'm always up for a good serenade.
Now THAT would be fun! :) Thanks, M Pax!
You're on! ;)
Thanks, Natasha! :)
*stares at blinking red dot* S-Sorry, guys...
Today's performance has been cancelled due to Melodie-induced stage fright! LOL
Welcome, Tamara! It's nice to meet you, too. :) Thank you for stopping by!
It’s nice to know there’s someone else on the same (slightly deranged) wavelength. I love it! :D
Welcome, Sam!
Thanks, Talli! :)
P.S. We could totally substitute coffee/tea for wine!
I'd give you a 10! Great post.
Hahahahahaha! Loved this! Thank you for making me laugh :-)
I would like to join in too! Both of you are AWESOME! Tara, you and I would have a ball together drinking caffeinated beverages and dancing and singing along with the music! :)
lol, Carrie! That's awesome. A Golden thank you :)
We'd both end up on YouTube, cause I'd jump on the table to dance and sing along with you;-)
Yay! I am super looking forward to your book's release. =)
Thanks, Carol! :D
Anytime, Rachel! :) Thanks for stopping by!
Why thank you, Lynda! :)
Hah! Then we'd take our act out on the road. Venues might advertise the tour as comedy, but we'd refer to it as musical genius. ;)
That makes me so happy to hear that, Crystal! :) Thank you!
P.S. Welcome!!
Love that post! I would definitely bust out with I'm Thankful For You along with you!
Thanks, Tyrean! :D I think we could get a sing-along going!
Carrie, I love this post... and your enthusiasm is infectious!
I'm a professional musician, do you think you might need somebody to work on the vocal arrangements for your sing-and-dance routine?
Thanks, Michelle!
Oh, heck yes. You are now on Team Serenade! ;)
What a great post! You are such a bright light, Carrie, and we all appreciate you :)
Aww... thank you, Angela! :) That's kind of you to say!
