I'm Thankful for My Readers!

Dear Readers,

You know I love you guys, right? There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for your support and encouragement. In fact, if you were here, we’d go out for coffee.

I'd scrounge around until I found enough change in my car, and we'd waltz in like we owned the place. You’d get something caffeinated, and I’d order green tea. Then we’d sit at a cozy little table in the corner and people-watch, whilst discussing our WIPs...

But then, out of nowhere, I’d jump up and thrust my cup in the air! You, of course, would be mortified, but I wouldn’t notice. Possessed by the attitude of gratitude, I’d climb up on my stool and… serenade you.

Yeah, I went there.

Have you ever heard the chorus of “Thankful for You”? (Skip to about 00:50) I’d use my empty cup as a microphone and do my best TobyMac impression. “I’m thankful for yooooooooooooou!” Somewhere in the middle, I’d bust out my sweet, sweet dance moves—the kind only a writer can pull off—and you’d love it.

Or at least, you’d pretend to. Secretly, you’d record the whole thing on your phone and upload it to Youtube. Within a matter of days, you’d have a million hits on “Author Kills Career,” and the ad money would pour in. Before you knew it, you’d be able to quit your day job and write or read full-time!

That is how much I appreciate you. ;)

Love,
Carrie

Can I bring ear plugs?
And, you never know, I probably would join in to show how much I appreciate your help too :o)

Ha, love this! I would definitely appreciate being serenaded. :)

I love the coffee cup as a mic image. I'm a shower-with-shampoo-bottle-mic kind of gal. This is a fortunate thing for the masses who will never hear my rendition of Aretha Franklin's RESPECT. Great blog hop idea. :)

LOL, excellent post! I'll be over for my serenaded coffee as soon as I can! ;)

I love this fantasy! Hah hah hah.

"I’d bust out my sweet, sweet dance moves—the kind only a writer can pull off" - is that like Elaine from Seinfeld by any chance?

Hilarious! You rock.

Out for caffeine...I'm there, with my camera phone at the ready. :)

Carrie, darling, maybe you should rethink the green tea. I've heard of this happening before. Lovely, normal lady, consumes too much green and turns into a Irish Rover. There is help, dear. But you have to seek it out. Holler, I'm sure someone will hear. Ooh, the eagles are gathering. You know what that means...

"You like me! You really like me!" We like you, too, Carrie.

Carrie, I love this post... and your enthusiasm is infectious!
I'm a professional musician, do you think you might need somebody to work on the vocal arrangements for your sing-and-dance routine?
