Hey, guys! Today, I'm over at NA Alley discussing "new adult" misconceptions. Want a sneak peak?
Because of this, I catch a variety
of posts and articles—lately, NA-centric ones. You know what I’ve learned?
There are a few bloggers who
oppose NA. (Everyone gasp now!) In the spirit of education, I’ve decided to
summarize their complaints/misconceptions and answer them FAQ style!"

Fun stuff, right? Speaking of NA, congratulations to Victoria & Juliana for signing book deals! This category is happening! :D
Have a great week! ♥

Thanks for the shout out, sister!
No problem! You deserve it. :D
great post. it just suddenly dawned on me how disturbing it is that we need to cut people's stories off into neat piles -- like the jump from teen to adult is that seamless. shows a true gap in understanding the quarterlife.
Yay for Victoria and Juliana!!! I'm so excited for the NA sisters!!!!
Had a look - you didn't disappoint :o)
Great post!
Thanks, Gina! :) I agree. It's crazy how differently a book about a seventeen-year-old and a nineteen-year-old are treated!
Thanks, Cassiopeia! Ever think about writing NA yourself? ;)
Thank you, Iain! :D
Thank you, Natasha! :)
What are people so afraid of? Competition to the YA market? It's ridiculous really. Adults read YA & they'll read NA, too. One is not going to impede the other. Like YA, it's not solely for college kids. It's just a category so readers can narrow their search. People like to read about this time in their lives, too.
WHAT?! People are silly! I love the NA genre and think it's an important category for people to choose from. Shame on those nay-sayers!
I had no idea about NA until recently, but I think it's a fantastic idea. It helps narrow things down & with so many options that's definitely helpful.
Thanks so much for the post, Carrie!
Congrats to Victoria & Juliana! And the NA post is a great one--definitely worth the click through. :)
I'll have to add this as link to my article on NA for Rache Writes. Glad you posted this one.
*heading over*
Yay for the newly signed authors!!! Woot!!
Exactly! The category is there to tell the reader what to expect, not dictate what they read. There's plenty of room for everyone. :)
NA loves you, too! :D Thank you, Abby!
...Is what I would say if I didn't know your pen name. What's wrong with me tonight? LOL Thank you, Leigh!
Thanks for stopping by, Tara! If you're curious, there's plenty of information around NA Alley. If you have a question you can't find an answer to there, feel free to shoot me an e-mail! :)
Woohoo for Victoria & Juliana!
Thank you, Melissa! I appreciate the kind words. :D
Oh, that would be fantastic! Thank you, Lee! :D
Thanks, Donna! :)
What an exciting time to be an NA writer! :)
Congrats to Victoria and Juliana! That's awesome. I'm headed over to NA Alley now. :)
Thanks for the shout out my NA sista! Excellent article today by the way ;)
People *are* silly. :)
Yay for you guys single-handedly bringing New Adult into the mainstream!!! Go go go go! Whoa, that was about as much energy as I could muster on only one cup of coffee:)
Yay! Let's start the revolution! LOL. =)
Yay for my NA sisters! :) Thanks, Michael!
Why thank you, Victoria. :) You're very welcome!
Silly is the perfect word, Talli. :)
Hah! Someone get this woman some coffee, stat! Can I say "stat," if I'm not a doctor? Hmm...
Pretend Lydia said it. :D Thanks, Lindsay!
Heck yeah! :D Thanks, Elizabeth!
That was a great post. I think with the surge of ebooks, we can have all sorts of categories. I think it helps the reader find exactly what they're looking for.
Thanks, Christine! :) Hooray for categories!
It's such an exciting niche for readers and writers. :)
I agree. :D Thanks for stopping by, Lydia!
Congrats to the NA authors!
Thanks for the NA support, Julia! :)
I love NA!! Somebody write a bestseller so it becomes an established genre. And hurry up!! ;)
