NA Misconceptions

Hey, guys! Today, I'm over at NA Alley discussing "new adult" misconceptions. Want a sneak peak?

"...I should admit something: I am a nomadic info-sponge. It starts with one well-intended Internet search, and then comes the distraction. One thing leads to another. Something shiny catches my eye. I wander a bit.

Because of this, I catch a variety of posts and articles—lately, NA-centric ones. You know what I’ve learned?

There are a few bloggers who oppose NA. (Everyone gasp now!) In the spirit of education, I’ve decided to summarize their complaints/misconceptions and answer them FAQ style!"

(Click here to read the rest.)

Fun stuff, right? Speaking of NA, congratulations to Victoria & Juliana for signing book deals! This category is happening! :D

Have a great week! ♥

  1. great post. it just suddenly dawned on me how disturbing it is that we need to cut people's stories off into neat piles -- like the jump from teen to adult is that seamless. shows a true gap in understanding the quarterlife.

    1. Thanks, Gina! :) I agree. It's crazy how differently a book about a seventeen-year-old and a nineteen-year-old are treated!

  4. What are people so afraid of? Competition to the YA market? It's ridiculous really. Adults read YA & they'll read NA, too. One is not going to impede the other. Like YA, it's not solely for college kids. It's just a category so readers can narrow their search. People like to read about this time in their lives, too.

    1. Exactly! The category is there to tell the reader what to expect, not dictate what they read. There's plenty of room for everyone. :)

  6. I had no idea about NA until recently, but I think it's a fantastic idea. It helps narrow things down & with so many options that's definitely helpful.

Thanks so much for the post, Carrie!
