Deletegreat post. it just suddenly dawned on me how disturbing it is that we need to cut people's stories off into neat piles -- like the jump from teen to adult is that seamless. shows a true gap in understanding the quarterlife.

DeleteWhat are people so afraid of? Competition to the YA market? It's ridiculous really. Adults read YA & they'll read NA, too. One is not going to impede the other. Like YA, it's not solely for college kids. It's just a category so readers can narrow their search. People like to read about this time in their lives, too.
ReplyDeleteExactly! The category is there to tell the reader what to expect, not dictate what they read. There's plenty of room for everyone. :)

DeleteI had no idea about NA until recently, but I think it's a fantastic idea. It helps narrow things down & with so many options that's definitely helpful.

DeleteThat was a great post. I think with the surge of ebooks, we can have all sorts of categories. I think it helps the reader find exactly what they're looking for.
