11 Questions from Kathleen Doyle

Don't worry. There aren't two Mondays this week. This is a special post. ;) Kathleen Doyle, over at Writing, Reading, and Life, has viciously generously tagged me to answer 11 questions of her choosing. Afterward, I get to make up 11 questions of my own and tag 11 unsuspecting victims bloggers. (Bwahahaha!)

Her Questions:
1. On average, how often do you look in a mirror (practicing faces for your writing does count!)

I won’t lie. I have a mirror on my wall and make faces at myself all the livelong day. *grins*

2. What is your weirdest/strangest/most interesting habit? Be honest!

I do a nervous little dance when I watch shootouts on TV. No, you can’t see it. :P

3. If you could go anywhere in the UNIVERSE, where would it be and why? (Fictional places are totally part of the universe.)

Oh, oh! I would go to Wilcox and hang out with Rena and Wallace. <3

4. What fictional character do you hate with a passion?

I won’t name the book, but there’s this chick who hooks up with a vampire. (Not that book, Twi-haters. :P) Anyway, she goes from being an independent woman to some touchy feely doormat who puts up with Vamp-man’s I’m-older-than-dirt-so-I-don’t-know-how-to-respect-modern-women attitude. By the middle of the book, I’d already lost my patience and wanted one of the other vamps to tear into her jugular…

5. Upon landing on a deserted tropical island, you realize you have only one thing to help you survive! What is it?

Hah! Laila Knight asked me this once. I told her I’d want a razor to shave my legs. You know you’re going to end up stranded with some big, strapping dude on that island. Might as well be prepared. ;)

6. What do you hoard collect?

Blue Jackets memorabilia and ninja t-shirts.
...Don't judge me. :P

7. You’ve just landed on a brand new, never before discovered planet. What do you name it?

The Kingdom of NIHAPAYD! (Abbreviated from: Nanananananaa! I have a planet, and yoooou don't!)

8. Fill in the blank: I am proud of myself for _______________.

I am proud of myself for working so diligently toward my goal of publication. In the beginning, I didn’t have much faith in myself or my writing ability. You guys have really helped with that. <3

9. You have half an hour to cook a meal for your family/friends/people. What do you make?

Chicken! C’mon, there are eighty bazillion ways to serve chicken. Give ‘em a salad and some bread with it. They’ll be good to go.

10. You’ve just been asked to give an impromptu speech on any subject. What do you talk about?

I’d probably encourage people to donate to a nonprofit. I've given a few speeches on blood donation and several concerning the lack of clean water in poverty-stricken areas. I think we speak best when it’s from the heart. <3

11. Is there life beyond our planet?

…Um, yeah. I just landed on a new planet in question #7. ;)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My turn! (I'm going tag a mix of new and old friends.)

  1. Lisa Regan
  2. Melissa Maygrove
  3. Cassie
  4. JeffO
  5. C. Lee McKenzie
  6. Leigh Covington
  7. Megan
  8. JEFrtiz
  9. Natasha Hanova
  10. Hildred Billings
  11. Siv Maria
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Their Questions...
  1. What was the last song you listened to?
  2. Plotter, pantser, or non-committal hybrid? ;)
  3. There’s a new release from your favorite (living) author! Do you click to order the ebook or rush out to buy it in print?
  4. You’re stressed out. What snack do you turn to? (If you don’t stress-eat, we don’t want to know… you robot. *grins*)
  5. Name two fictional characters you’d want to see get in a fight.
  6. The animal you most identify with is the _______.
  7. Two things within arm’s reach:
  8. If you had to compete in the 2012 Olympics, which sport would you pick?
  9. Do you kind of hate me right now? It’s okay. I would, too. ;)
  10. Did you eat breakfast this morning?
  11. Describe your current book, MS, or WIP in three words.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have fun!

You can't go wrong with chicken.
Or a razor. I always thought that if I signed up for one of those PBS reality TV shows (Pioneer House, etc.) I'd hide a pair of tweezers somewhere. Bc w/o them I am just scary.

Katie Dunn said...

First, I want to know the name of the book!!! Second, awesome name for a new planet=) And third, good point on the last question!

Carrie Butler said...

Tweezers are a great idea! And perfect to conceal. Hmm...

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Carrie Butler said...

1) I can't! I'm terrified of book karma! LOL
2) Why thank you. :)
3) Was it a test? Did I pass?! :D

Lisa Regan said...

First on your list?! LOL. Actually I really like this post. Kathleen had great questions for you! I totally love that planet name and also, the razor on the deserted island would have multiple uses. Good thinking.

Cassie Mae said...

Haha! I don't shave my legs now so there's no way I'd be bringing a razor with me to an island. However, I did shave while I was in labor so my doc didn't have to see my hairiness. Hmm... Looks like I'm a walking contradiction! Haha!

Awesome - now I've got a post for Friday! Thanks!

And you know, the hated shootout has been around long enough that I knew what you meant right away, but I still pictured you dancing nervously while watching 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.'

Great answers. :o)

This was a hoot to read. You're my hero, Carrie. I hope you realize that. One thing. I thought you hopped around like that during those violent scenes cuz you had to pee.

I make strange motions when my hockey team is doing a shot out. Does that count?

This was fun. Congratulations to all the winners.

Carrie Butler said...

Always! *grins* Thanks! You know, maybe I should've made it a Swiss Army razor. Hmm... ;)

Carrie Butler said...

Hah! You might be on to something, Cassie. Maybe I should've went with my Kindle, instead. A big, strapping dude can only entertain me so long... LOL

Carrie Butler said...

Glad to help! :)

Hah! I'm sure I could work out a dance for that, too. *grins*

Carrie Butler said...

It was a fun break from the hustle and bustle of the writing world. :)

Carrie Butler said...

Welcome, Honey! It's nice to meet you, too. :D You should give the interview a shot. It really is fun!

Carrie Butler said...

*Hugs* Thanks! You know, you should give the questions a try, too. It'd be fun to read. :)

Carrie Butler said...

Hah! That would be fun to cart around. ;)

Carrie Butler said...

D'aww...

Thanks, Joylene! I'm glad you had fun with it, too. :) Hmm, you know, my pee dance is pretty similar to my shootout dance! LOL

Yep! Strange motions count. They're the first signs of an impending dance. ;)

Hilarious Q&A! I learned a lot about you.
Oh, and if I ever come to dinner I expect chicken. : )

Lydia Kang said...

Ha ha, #7 and the last one were so funny! Oh, and the in between ones too. Ditto on the chicken, btw.

Becky Wallace said...

You could always use the razor to shave the strapping dudes back. Cause that's the kind of guy I'd get stuck on an island with.

Donna K. Weaver said...

Yay for chicken! Love it. So many things you can do with it.

Congrats on being tagged.

Mark Murata said...

Practicing in a mirror? I've been on the floor, on my side or on my back, practicing the moves of my characters as they struggled.
P.S. I live alone.

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Lydia! :) Heck yes. Chicken has saved me from countless dinner dilemmas!

Carrie Butler said...

Ack! I hope I'm not stuck on your island. I keep picturing a sasquatch. LOL

I just love your answer to #8. I feel the exact same way! Ugh, now I have to do this 11 thingie, too, thanks to Lisa. I'm just not good at this kind of thing, but I'll try to sound as good as you.

(And which Vamp book are you talking about? I am so completely clueless.)

Carrie Butler said...

Aww, thanks, Nancy! I tried to spare you, because I knew you had a ton of blogfests this month. Looks like you got suckered in anyway! ;)

I'll e-mail you. I'm afraid of book karma. LOL

Tia Bach said...

Glad I jumped over to say HI from the campaign trail and saw this post. A great way to get to know you. LOVE your planet name. ;-)

I'm in your YA - All Genres group. Looking forward to seeing you during the campaign activities!

Talli Roland said...

What fun questions! Love the new planet name. :)

Jocelyn Rish said...

Lots of fun answers to a lot of fun questions. I especially like the one about a razor on a deserted island. I actually have nightmares about having to wear a bathing suit with hairy legs. But that might be because I too often... uh... let the situation get out of control. :-)

Stopping by to say Hello from the YA campaign group.

Misha Gerrick said...

Hahahahahaha Planet NIHAPAYD is a brilliant name idea. Just dropped by to follow from the campaign. :-)

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Tia! It's nice to meet you! I'll be over to your blog soon. :)

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Talli! :)

Carrie Butler said...

Hah! We must be on the same, razor-lovin' wavelength. :)

Thanks for stopping by, Jocelyn!

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Misha! It's nice to meet you! :D

cleemckenzie said...

I'm laughing, Carrie. A RAZOR to shave your legs on a deserted island? It's a desert, too! Girl, you are a princess by nature.

Thanks for the tag. I'll have to put on my thinking thingofmajig--AKA my brain, and see what I can come up with.

Carrie Butler said...

Hey, I could (probably) use it for other things, too! *grins*

You're welcome! I can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

Dawn Montgomery said...

A razor? Bwahahahaha. That's awesome! I collect zombie shirts so I DEFINITELY understand the ninja hoarding. :D

I'm a fellow paranormal romance campaigner and can't wait to get to know you and your writing!

Keep Writing!
Dawn
