I can't pull them off. I ramble too much. (Shocking, I know.) Instead, I decided to try something fun: a painting. We'll get back to that in a moment.
Here's the--
Wait! Let me start the mood music (clean version)...
Okay, here's the blurb from Jennifer's site:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF HE CAN'T HAVE HER . . .
Dr.
Sheila Tao is a professor of psychology. An expert in human behaviour.
And when she began an affair with sexy, charming graduate student Ethan
Wolfe, she knew she was playing with fire. Consumed by lust when they
were together, riddled with guilt when they weren't, she knows the
three-month fling with her teaching assistant has to end. After all,
she's engaged to a kind and loving investment banker who adores her, and
she's taking control of her life. But when she attempts to end the
affair, Ethan Wolfe won't let her walk away.
. . . NOBODY ELSE CAN.
Ethan has plans for Sheila, plans that
involve posting a sex video that would surely get her fired and destroy
her prestigious career. Plans to make her pay for rejecting him. And as
she attempts to counter his every threatening move without her
colleagues or her fiancé discovering her most intimate secrets, a
shattering crime rocks Puget Sound State University: a female student, a
star athlete, is found stabbed to death. Someone is raising the stakes
of violence, sex, and blackmail . . . and before she knows it, Sheila is
caught in a terrifying cat-and-mouse game with the lover she couldn't
resist—who is now the monster who won't let her go.

Anyway, I'm a firm believer that rockstar authors (and awesome friends) need devoted readers and fans, so here's a little "fanart" of Sheila:
Have a great week, guys! ♥

Haven't heard that song in a while! Funny, I used to hear it on the radio all the time, but I never knew who did it (I find that happens much more now that I'm an old guy!).
The book sounds really good from the blurb, and I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'll have to pick it up. Nice work on the painting!
I love it. And I loved Creep. As I've told Jenny multiple times, I simply love Sheila. She's a complex, imperfect protagonist and that's exactly the reason I love her!
This was one of my favorite thriller of last year. It was very well done!
That sounds really good! I'm definitely going to check it out! And good job on the art. :) I think, without reading it (yet) you did the book fair justice!
I'm dying! This is the best thing I have ever seen! Wow, Carrie! Thank you SO MUCH. I can't stop smiling!
Wow, that's GORGEOUS!!! And you know I loved CREEP. Can't wait for book 2. =D
Okay, so I read that blurb and immediately my heartbeat quickened. Not sure if I could handle reading the novel because, I, too, am a bit of a baby. But I'm so intrigued I just might have to try this one.
Thanks for the review-that's-not-really-a-review.
How comes you have sooooo many talents: Mega writer, Stellar web page designer, and super cool artist, and all I can do is just about string a sentence together.
Awesome! I love a good thriller and haven't read one in a while. I'll have to check this out. And LOVE the fanart! :)
I'm adding this book to my reading list. Sounds great!
The fan art is great. Sounds like a "creepy" story. *shudders*
Sounds like a great story. Thanks for the review.
I think this novel is fabulous! Yay for CREEP!
You can't possibly be old, Jeff. You surround yourself with too much youth and vibrance in the writing community for that to happen! ;)
You should! Oh, thank you! :)
Thanks! :)
I love Sheila, too! The contrast between her strength and vulnerability was perfect.
Mine, too! (In fact, it was my only thriller last year.) Jennifer is so talented! :)
You should, April! It's a good read.
Oh, thank you! I appreciate that. :)
Oooh. Very Fatal Attraction. Must. Read.
No problem! You're always so welcoming to everyone and so open about your experiences, I just wanted to give you something back. Besides that, you're a great friend and I flippin' loved CREEP. :)
Thanks, RaShelle! I can't wait, either! :)
Yeah, Angela! If I can do it, you can do it. :)
You're welcome!
You should, Lucy! I bet you'll enjoy it. :)
Hah! I'd settle for one of those things being true. ;) Thanks, though!
Good! I really think you'll enjoy it. :) Oh! Thank you! :)
I'm glad, Anon! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)
Thanks, Donna! Oh, it's delightfully "creepy"! :)
It is! Thanks for stopping by! :)
I agree! Yay! :D
Definitely! :)
Nice fan art! I loved Creep. Loved, loved, loved it!
I need to get around to checking out this book. :)
Cool fan art!
I didn't know you were an artist too! Multi-talented!! And very nicely done. Pretty much how I pictured Sheila.
Carrie: You ROCK! Like in a huge way. HUGE! That fan art is so very awesome! This is me, bowing down to you.
(And for the record, I don't review books for the exact same reason. :))
Thanks, Lydia! I loved Creep, too. :D
It's a good read. :) Thank you!
Aww, thanks, Nancy! I appreciate that. :D
Why thank you, Pegasus! :)
Ack, don't bow down to me. You'll tip the boat! (...Because we're in the same boat, review-wise.) Too much of a stretch? *Grins*
I think this is the best review I've read in a long time. Fan art says it all!
Thanks, Lynda! I appreciate that. :D
HEHE this is awesome Carrie. Love it:) I was already planning to read this book, but if I wasn't, you would have shoved me over the edge!
Thanks, Lindsay! :D Oh, I think you'll love the book.
I'll try to shove you over the edge with my next recommendation. *Grins*
Wow, awesome work. I shall have to send you my book once I am published so I can get one, lol. Also, I have an award for you on my blog :)
Thanks, Victoria! Be careful. I may hold you to that. ;)
Oh, thank you! I'll go check it out! :D
For someone who doesn't do good reviews, you do justice to Jennifer's book, Carrie. After reading this post, I'd definitely check out her book. In fact, I'm copying the pertinent info right now. Kudos for you enticing me to do so. I love thrillers, as you know. Good ones are hard to come by. Thanks!
Thanks, Joylene! Oh, please do. I think you'll love it! :)
What a great idea with the fan art! You realize you've opened the floodgates now, right? LOL
Angela
Thanks! :)
...Well, crap. I hadn't thought of it that way. *grins* Oh well. Bring on the figurative flood!
