[Klout Perk Review] Chex Mix Popped

I'm baaaaaack! How was your June? Relaxing? Productive? I like to think mine was a mixture of both. :)

Anyhoo, to ease back into the swing of things, I'm bringing you a new and delightfully random feature—but first we need to do a quick disclosure: I was given a free product or sample because I’m a Klout influencer. I am under no obligation to receive the sample or talk about this company. I get no additional benefits for talking about the product or company.

Whew!

That said, let me tell you about the magic that is Chex Mix Popped. I’ve been getting Klout perks for a couple of years now—things like Moo Minicards, a Shutterfly book, a McDonald’s gift card, etc.—but this is the first snack that’s shown up on my doorstep. When I opened up the box, I was pretty shocked to find not one, but two full-sized bags to try.

(I totally assumed they would cheap out and give me one of those tiny bags kids get in their lunch boxes. Oops!)

Now, before I get into my reaction, I should preface this with two facts:

1. I don’t like sweets, because they’ve always made me sick. Thankfully, I’m on meds now, but the preference (or lack thereof) remains.

2. I hate snacks that are covered in a thick, heavily-seasoned coating, just to be branded as another flavor.

Let’s just say I was skeptical, but optimistic as I opened the White Cheddar...

My first thought was, “Is it all just popcorn puffs? Where’s the stuff they showed on the front?” I shook the bag around and the heavier pieces surfaced. You’ll definitely want to throw this mix in a bowl or be prepared to root around a little. Don’t worry, though. It’s totally worth it.

Alone, the popcorn isn't too shabby. It has a light, subtle flavor. But when you combine all of the elements? Good stuff! I could totally write and munch on this snack (as long as I was in the mood to deal with kernels).

Next came the Sweet and Salty. This was the one I wasn’t too sure about. If it was anything like a sticky box of Cracker Jacks, I probably wouldn’t enjoy it. I carefully pried the bag open and laid all the pieces out...

This time, my first thought was, “OH MY GOSH. THIS STUFF IS CRACK!” Seriously. I went to town on this bag. It wasn’t too sweet or too salty—plus, it had that light, popped thing going on. (Note: This would make perfect PMS food, ladies. The next time I get some book royalties, I’m picking up a bag or two to keep on hand!) You’ll definitely want to try this one first.

Two words to describe my experience with Klout and Chex Mix? Pleasantly surprised. You should try it for yourself. :)

Question of the Week:
Do you use Klout?

I've considered Klout but haven't gotten into as of yet. Didn't realize there were some pretty good perks.
And glad to see you back in the swing of things.

Never used Klout. I'll have to check out the Chex though.

I've Klouted and been told I influenced at least .5 people. Wonder what they'll send me to eat if I influence a whole person? Enjoy your cheddar. That's the best.

OOH! Looks yummy! I've never done the klout thing. I think I looked into it at one time, but apparently got distracted. Who knows! Glad you shared this though!

I have a Klout account, though I'm not a very influential person. I'm guessing it's because my blog isn't connected, and I don't use social media all that often. *sigh*

Those Chex snacks look really yummy!

Welcome back!

I get emails from them, but I've never really investigated.

It gives me a much-needed nudge to try new things every now and then. :) I think you'll like the Chex Mix!

Nonsense. You influence me! :D

Thanks, Lee! It's pretty good. My nephew stole the rest of my bag!

You'll have to try it sometime! It doesn't require any kind of time commitment, and the perks are way fun. :)

Thanks, Leigh!

You might be surprised how connecting a few of your sites helps boost the number. Mine isn't super high, but I get offers every now and then. Right now, I'm using some complimentary Tom's of Maine toothpaste!

Thanks, Loni! :)

Investigate, investigate! ;)

I think I tried to twiddle around with Klout before but nothing ever really came out of it. Then again, I probably didn't understand it so I never gave it a chance, lol.
I love the sweet and salty Chex mix. We usually bring them down to the beach on our cheat days... yum! Welcome back, Carrie!

Ooo..looks yummy. I've never heard of them. Guess, I'll check it out.

It is! You'll definitely have to give it a try. :)

Thankfully, it's not a site you have to check all the time. Once you get everything connected, it's just a matter of glancing at your score every once in a while and scoping out your eligible perks. :)

Thanks, Gina!

Must be only in the States. I've never seen the bag. Although, I don't get out much. LOL.

I've never heard of Klout. My son is sitting beside me as I read and he wants to be a taste tester too!

That's a bummer! I hope they get it up there soon. :D
