Tying Up Loose Ends

Hey, guys!

First off, you rocked the "How I Found the Write Path" blogfest last week. I was completely overwhelmed by the response. Inspiring stories, funny anecdotes, thought-provoking advice—whew! It's going to be a great e-book.

Speaking of which, if I haven't gotten around to your letter (blog or email) yet, don't worry. I'm taking my time for two reasons:

          1) At every blog stop, I comment, pin the submission to a special board, and then copy/paste it to my compilation document.

          2) I fell down the stairs last week and hurt my foot/ankle. Ow!

This will be my last Monday post for a while. (My actual last post will be Anna Silver's cover reveal on Saturday.) As most of you know, I always take a blog hiatus in June to catch up on projects. I'll still be visiting here and there, but for the most part, I'll only be around outside of the blogosphere until July 7th, i.e. via email, social media, etc.

Because of this, I think it's safe to say I won't have the How I Found the Write Path e-book formatted and uploaded until later this summer. I'll keep you updated!

Question of the Week:
Do you ever take blog breaks?

Sorry about your ankle! No rush on the book Carrie.
My breaks are shorter, but I do take them.

I think breaks are important for you and the reader. Taking a break gives them a few weeks away, and when you post that first one after a long break they are sure to stop over to see what you've got to say after a hiatus. The whole point behind blogging in my opinion is to get others to read it and keep the content fresh.

Enjoy your break.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. :(
A certain puppy we know wasn't involved, was he?

I did not participate in the blogfest as a writer, but I enjoyed reading others' stories. Enjoy your break, and yes, I take them from time to time as well. Be well!

I've been on a blog break for like weeks.... Oops. I probably should fix that.
You better be icing and elevating your ankle!

I'm glad it went so well. Sorry to hear about your ankle. I've been fighting three different injuries over the last year. Getting irritating.

Yes, I've taken blog breaks. Usually for heavy writing related responsibilities, but sometimes for vacations. It's nice.

Oh, no! I hope your ankle heals soon!

As someone who regularly falls down stairs, I feel your pain. I've never taken a blog break, but I don't blog to schedule so sometimes there's a longer time between posts than others. Have a good June!

I hope your ankle/foot heals well. The ebook will be eagerly awaited.
I usually only post once a week so haven't felt the need to take a longish break.

The bloghop was a blast! And I'll miss ya!! But I won't miss massaging your foot every night while Chibs makes you a cocktail.

I read several of the 'How I Found the Write Path' letters on my a to Z road trip visits. I know it will be a great e-book. Hope you heal quickly. Maria @ Delight Directed Living

Good luck with your time off! I hope you get a lot accomplished :-) I take a break when I'm in the 'zone' trying to get a book done.

I hope your ankle is feeling a bit better now!

Ha, I take blog breaks pretty much all yer round! :p

I'm really glad you set up this project, and I'm so glad to be a part of it.

Feel better. Enjoy your blog break. I've done blog slows, but not breaks. Since I post about once every 2 weeks, I can usually manage it. But I think just about everyone does take off for a mont or two at a time.

OUCH! I hope your foot feels better soon. Enjoy your break. I take them too to play catchup!

Breaks from blogging are essential to my mental health. Wanted one in June, but a small thing called a contract made that impossible. Good, but not good in terms of that much needed break. So sorry about the ankle. Elevate your leg and sip something cool while reading and recuperating. :-)

I'm taking two weeks off in June. Hope your ankle feels better. No worries on the book. I know you will get it done and it will be awesome.

You did a great job on this blogfest. I'm still making my way around. Lots of inspiring stories out there.
Take care of yourself and your foot/ankle. They're never the same once you hurt them.
Enjoy your break and cross off lots of stuff on your 'To Do List'!

Carrie, I hope you are okay! Please take care of yourself!
If I have too many projects going on at once or if I'm traveling (which is a lot over the summer since I'm off from work) I take breaks from my blog. We need those times to focus on our writing or whatever else is important to us.

Ack! Falling down the stairs is not cool (don't let those kids tell you otherwise). I'm glad your break is a blogging one, and not bone. Would it be inappropriate to say, "see you after the fall?"

Enough bad jokes. Hope you're doing better, and that you get a lot done.

OMG, Carrie! I hope you're all right! You TOTALLY deserve a break. Take care of yourself and BREATHE a little. You are so incredibly busy all the time.

Take Care....

Sending you big HEALING HUGS!!!!!

I think every blogger I know has taken breaks-- it's good for writers to do so. Plus, it's good to focus on healing.

Hope your ankle is doing better! And have an awesome break. The bloghop was fantastic!!

I loved seeing people's entries into that bloghop. Such a fab idea! Sorry about your ankle. Enjoy your blog break! I took a major one when I was pregnant a while ago and I'm still trying to catch up!

Mason T. Matchak said...

Bummer about the ankle. >_< I've been there and it seriously sucks. Hope you heal quickly!

As for the question, I don't take blog breaks, because really, I do one entry a week. If a time comes when I can't manage that, either my life's gotten really interesting or I've grown incredibly lazy. ^_^
