FAQs

Some of you have asked questions about HONESTY, so here are my (vague) answers. :)

Q: What's the content difference between HONESTY and the first two books in the Mark of Nexus series?

A: Hmm... let me put it this way:

•  STRENGTH had 2 f-bombs.
•  COURAGE had 2 f-bombs.
•  HONESTY has 20+ f-bombs.

This is Cole's POV. The language (and mindset) is going to be a little grittier. If that's not something you can stomach, don't worry. This is a side story. Any major series elements will be summarized in LOYALTY's opening chapters. :)

Side note: No GD or JC. Ever.

Q: What about sex?

A: Fade to black. The book skews more urban fantasy than paranormal romance, especially in the first two-thirds. There's more action and humor than anything else.

Q: Violence?

A: It's about the same level as the first two, just greater frequency.

Q: Since Rachel's in this book, does it get religious?

A: No more so than the first two books—so, no, not really.

Q: Was it difficult to write Cole's POV?

A: Surprisingly, not at all. His POV comes just as naturally, if not more so, than Rena's.  Maybe that should alarm me... LOL

Q: Where does HONESTY fall in the Mark of Nexus timeline?

A: It overlaps the second half of COURAGE, so I sprinkled in a few repeat scenes (different POV) to keep everyone oriented. Then it brings us to the doorstep of LOYALTY! :D

Q: I read somewhere that HONESTY was longer than you expected. Is it still a novella?

A: Not so much. The book ended up around 67k. Oops!

Will get a copy from Amazon as soon as I snag a gift card. At least the book is finished. Long or short that's what really matters. Congrats on your latest book Carrie.

People have suggested I write my brother's memoirs, but it would have to drop f-bombs at least twenty per page. LOL.

Funny how with all that goodness, I am choosing the F bombs to comment on? Best of luck on the release. I need to read up on the series. I've fallen behind!

Very intriguing FAQs. Also I dig your embedded music player. ALSO I noticed that you have a Fantasy WIP?? Now we're talking!
My current WIP is particularly grittier than A Sawmill's Hope... And my mom will be reading it, too. Time will tell how that works out :)

Also, I hadn't heard that Gravity Kills song in years and years. Good stuff.
