T is for Twitter Chats:
Need to keep up with a hashtag chat/event on Twitter? Try one of these options:
- Tweetchat - This one works right in your browser, and it adds the hashtag to your tweets.
- Tweetdeck - This is the app I use on my desktop. It's easy to keep track of different lists and manage multiple accounts.
- Hootsuite - Some people swear by this one. I haven't played around with it much.
Do you ever participate in Twitter (hashtag) chats?

I haven't ever participated in one, although someone has asked me to host one next month. That should be interesting.
I'm not even on Twitter, so I'm missing out on all that fun stuff. My wife uses Hootsuite and likes it.
I haven't participated in an actual twitter chat. But thanks for the post! I need to try it a few times.
I do use HootSuite and its great. There are other Web sites where you can join groups of ten people and each is responsible to Tweet each others posts throughout the day to their followers. I also use HootSuite for this.
If I'm getting serious about a tweet chat, I'll use Tweetdeck. :)
I haven't participated in a TweetChat, but I do love HootSuite. Makes all things Twitter so much easier.
They've come out with a new/"improved" Tweetdeck that's giving me fits. Of course, I've been so busy with the AtoZ that I haven't had time to deal with it, but so far I can't figure out where my DMs have gone. Will have to tackle that in May.
I downloaded Hootsuite, but lost interest. I'm so resistant to new things. Bad Elizabeth, I know!
Hootsuite and Tweetchat lover here.
Great links!
PS - I forgot to mention Tweepi.com. It's great for mass-managing Twitter followers. ;)
I participate in some of the weekly chats, like NALitChat and YALitChat, as well as some of the pitchfests that come up every so often.
I love Twitter (haven't used it much lately, though). I have participated in a hashtag chat but only once. I should try out Tweetdek and Hootsuite.
Eek. Good luck! :)
You're going to have to give in sooner or later, Mr. Author. ;)
You're welcome! You'll have to try one sometime. They're great sources of discussion. :)
Heck yes! :D
You should give it a go sometime! :)
Don't you hate that? You have something that works well, and then they "improve" it to the point of something going wrong. *sigh*
Twitter chats are a boring waste of time--that's why I host one. :D Can highly endorse your links. They're almost a must to get the full impact of participating in a chat. Think of them as being at a party where everyone is talking about similar things and you're very interested in hearing all of it. Those applications make that possible. :)
I need to improve my twitter 'factor' so thanks.
Aww, maybe something else will work out better for you. :)
Thanks for the tip, Melissa! :D
Hooray for #NALitChat! :D
Hi Carrie,
Oops, sorry for not leaving one of my award winning comments on your site for quite some time.
Anyway, I use Twitter, but not to the extent you mention. Although, I will now tweet your posting :)
Gary
Don't you mean when you host one? Ohhhhh! Just kidding. ;) The chats you host are the best!
No problem, Sheena-kay! :)
Hi Gary,
That's okay. I know how busy everyone is in April. :) Thanks for spreading the word!
I've participated in (or lurked in) a few tweet chats, but I actually haven't tried any of these services. I probably should. I hear it makes it much easier.
The things you learn! ;)
Practically something new every day! ;)
Oh, absolutely. They're much easier to follow. :)
I used Tweetdeck on my computer, but once I got an iPad, I started doing most of my internet stuff there. The Tweetdeck app was terrible, so I started using Hootsuite instead and really love it.
Hope you’re having fun with the A to Z challenge,
Jocelyn
Eek. Well, I'm glad you found something that works! :)
