[Linkage] E is for E-books

Note: My A-Z theme is linkage. Every day (at 7:00 a.m. EST), I'm going to list three helpful industry links per letter, and then I'll ask for suggestions in the comments—that way, we can pool our resources! :)
 E is for E-books:

Have anything interesting about e-books buried in your favorites folder?

P.S. Speaking of e-books (and paperbacks), STRENGTH is finally up on all major retailers' websites! Better late than never, right? :)

I'm really getting into my kindle ebooks these days. Never thought I'd ever say that.

I'm a hold out for real books. I am the only one in the family without a Kindle.

Hope all is well!

Thanks for the links. Free ebooks and an article by a former-agent-turned-author-slash-tech-guru? Thanks Carrie.

I still overwhelmingly prefer real books, but I'm slowly getting more e-books for my Kindle. This semester, I'm even renting an e-textbook.

Congratulations, Carrie. Major websites is a huge deal!

I like to think of it as carrying around my own personal library, in case I want to read something new on a whim. ;)

Thanks, Alex! :)

Why thank you, Goddess of Grammar! :D

Me too. Since all of the bookstores have left town, and I don't have the patience to wait for paperbacks to get shipped here...

Carrie Butler said...

There are certain authors I still have to buy their books in paperback or hardcover. It's an experience all its own. :)

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Michael! It's nice to finally have a variety of retailers to point people toward. :D

Carrie Butler said...

You're welcome! :)

Renting an e-textbook sounds fantastic. :) We were only testing the concept when I worked at a campus bookstore years ago. Look how far things have come!

Thanks, Joylene! It's nice to finally have a list of sites where Strength is available. :D

I love ebooks so much more than paper books. I love the ability to download a sample, so it's a reminder to buy that book. :D

Oh I love FREE E-Books! Thanks for this :)

I am a total real-book-in-my-hand-so-I-can-smell-it-and-hug-it kind of gal. Maybe one day when my bookshelf is so overloaded I will purchase a kindle. For now, it the real thing for me.
But there is something tempting about the word free and (e)books in the same sentence. :)

Good stuff having all the links up and active for your novel in e-book and paperback.

Ereader News Today ENT) mentions some pretty good free/discounted books as well

Carrie Butler said...

Me too. It's a great resource. :) You're welcome!

Carrie Butler said...

I never thought about using samples as reminders! :) That's brilliant!

Carrie Butler said...

It's a great way to branch outside of your category/genre comfort zone! :) No problem!

Carrie Butler said...

It's good to know I'm not the only one who smells and hugs real books! LOL

Maybe you can be a hybrid reader. Try the free e-books, and if you like them, you can purchase the paperback! :)

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks for the tip, Angela! I'll have to check it out. :D

I have dozens of free books on my kindle and on my kobo. I haven't read them all yet but I will.

Carrie Butler said...

Me too! :) Thanks for stopping by, Susan!

Hey Carrie,

Yes, I've finally arrived. Did I hear applause? Gosh, thank you :)

Your links are gratefully going to be checked out. Did you know that Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar's book titled "My First Bark (The Puppy Years)", will soon be available on 'eekpublishing?

Happy alphabeting and enjoy your weekend, Carrie.

Gary :)

Carrie Butler said...

Hey Gary,

Of course! We're big on applause around here.

As it should be. Penny has all the makings of a breakout author. Let's just hope she stays a modest superstar. ;)

Have a great weekend!
Carrie

Can I have bonus points for leaving a comment at gone two thirty in the morning? No? Yes? Get out of town?

I applaud you, Carrie. And yes, Penny will stay modest. Although she's getting a bit upset with the 'puparazzi' forever um hounding her....

Right then, time to get some sleep. Be well and keep smiling :)

I am still relying only on my Cloud Kindle, as I don't have an e-reader of any description. I do think I'll be getting one at some point.

Word up, Ms. Butler,

What a cool idea for A-Z... I am so book-marking this for future reference :)

I'd even say I'm making a special CB folder, but I don't want to worry you about black helicopters that fly overhead :)

Carrie Butler said...

Yo, Mr. Koopmans!

Why thank you. Haha! Yes, we wouldn't want that. :P
