Lies, Greetings, & Hiatuses!

Three things on the agenda today:

1. I'm going to reveal Crystal Collier's lie from her blog tour.
2. I'm going to get sappy and wish you a Merry Christmas.
3. I'm going to... get out of here!

Crystal Collier's Lie

In case you've forgotten, here are the choices she presented in her Truth or Lie game:

1.    Crystal is a certified scuba diver and has been spear hunting for lobsters at night.
2.    She tore open her jaw on the black diamond ski slopes of Powder Mountain. (20+ stitches.)
3.    She worked a summer in both Yellowstone and the High Uintahs.

Ready for the answer? I'll let Crystal tell you herself...

The lie: #2.
"Yes, I do have a scar that took 20+ stitches to sew up running from the corner of my mouth and looping all the way to below my chin, but believe it or not, despite growing up in Utah, I have yet to go snow skiing.

I am actually a certified scuba diver—that was my birthday present when I turned 15—and although I don’t eat seafood, I went hunting with a group on a Catalina trip. When I was 15 I also worked at Spirit Lake (10K feet above sea level) doing horse tours, waiting tables, and maintaining a campground. At 18, I worked as a housekeeper in Yellowstone and hit the park every night with my best friend. Both awesome experiences."

THE WINNERS:

  • Kimberly Afe
  • Angela Brown
  • Suzanne Furness
 Seasons Greetings

Merry Christmas, all of you wonderful people! (If you're not a fan, just put your finger over "Merry Christmas" and say out loud whatever you celebrate. It works, I promise!

You guys are all kinds of awesome, and I don't know what I'd do without your support. (Let's never find out, okay?) Here's wishing you the safest and happiest of holidays. :)

Hiatus

I used to feel so bad about taking time off from blogging. Now I'm like, "Heck yes! Let me write it on Washi tape in my color-coded planner..."

Don't get me wrong. I love you guys. ♥ I just also happen to love spending time with my family and working on my book... ;) So, I shall return on:

  JANUARY 13, 2014

Question of the week: What are your plans for the holidays? Are you taking any time off from blogging?

Have a happy Christmas! I'm just enjoying the university winter break, and depending upon how soon I can end my babysitting gig (upon the children's divorced parents finding a replacement with a more suitable schedule), I might visit my aunt in Florida.

The further you get on this journey, the greater the need for a hiatus. Happy travels!

Taking a break?? I need one as well. But mine will have to wait until the 23rd.
I know this is beside the point but I really dig the font and the gilded style of that "Lies" png. Kind of a mixture of Greece and Harry Potter.
Merry Christmas to you. I hope it's a good one!
Enjoy your break

Hubs is taking time off work with me and the kids over break and even though I'm not taking a total hiatus, I won't be around the blogosphere quite so much. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas :-)

Yay! I'm so late to the party. Carrie, thank you a billion times over. You are amazing, and I so need to catch up blogging. See this is what happens when you take a hiatus--even if it's just to go on a short cruise so you can plan book stuff. Yup.

Merry Christmas, woman, and enjoy your time away!

Carrie Butler said...

You're very welcome! Catching up is my least favorite part of a hiatus, so I totally understand. It always feels like drowning!

Of course, such is life in this industry... ;) Merry Christmas!

Hey, Stranger...

NO wonder I haven't seen up around... HAPPY 2014!!!!!! I was traveling through COLOMBIA for all of November and in Florida until Dec 17, so I was scamping about and blogging sporadically.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you tomorrow!!!!

I am hosting a COFFEE HOP on Fri. Jan. 17th... if you LOVE COFFEE, you must hop along. I am giving away a pound of PURE COLOMBIAN. Nothing like you've EVER tasted. I already have the link up from IWSG post, but I will be posting a FULL page on it tomorrow.

I can't WAIT TO SEE YOU!!!!! I've greatly missed our chats.

Carrie Butler said...

Welcome back, Michael! Happy 2014 to you, too. :D

Oh wow. That's exciting! I'm sure you'll have a ton of writers hop on that one!

I've missed our chats, too! We need to catch up. :)
