Anti-Blogfest and Upcoming Events

I had to join this one. The concept was just too funny. Here's to Gary!

The rules: Create the titles of three PG-13 rated blogfests you would never join, and then add a descriptive sentence or two. That's it!

Three blogfests I would never sign up for:

  1. Potty Words - “A writing exercise, detailing your last visit to the restroom.”
  2. Review Response-fest - “A race to see who can kill their career the fastest!”
  3. Prattle Royal - “A battle to see who can prattle on the longest before their readers abandon them.”

Upcoming Events

Is it just me, or has time flown since I announced I was going indie?

I've been scrambling to format the ebooks, get promo images ready, etc. Now there's only one week until re-release! *faints*

Last I heard, Strength was going to be a part of W4WS in August, so that's probably what I'll post next Monday. (Believe me, I'm going to need all of the re-building help I can get!) It's going to be 99¢ for one week, and I'd be really grateful if you'd help spread the word. Here's an early graphic:

And here's a quick overview of the next three weeks:
  • August 16th - Strength goes down on retailer websites
  • August 19th - Strength returns to Amazon with bonus features - other retailers to follow in later months
  • August 25th -  Juliana Haygert's release blitz for Breaking the Reins
  • August 26th - Strength 99¢ sale ends and Eric Muss Barnes will be here with a guest post
  • August 29th - Cover reveal for Angela Brown and Gwen Gardner
  • August 31th - Tour sign-ups close for Courage (Mark of Nexus #2)
  • September 2nd - A business announcement two years in the making... ;)
Question of the Week: What do you have coming up?

Thanks, guys! ♥ Have a great week!

Very creative blogfests, Carrie--where do I sign up?

Best of luck with the Strength re-release!

Looking forward to promoting you for the W4WS!
That second blogfest is awesome. It would be funny.

The first one would be more grunts and groans than words. Okay, TNI. I know.

And yes you are still on for WFWS this month. Just sent you an email a bit ago! Looking forward to it!

Great anti-blogfests. Made me smile. Like you, I have books coming out soon--seems like fall is a popular time for it. Good luck with all your work. I'm happy to help with announcements and such if you need them.

Here are my anti=blogfests!

I think I've participated in all of these at one time or another, although they weren't official fests. Very good, Carrie.

Loved the review one. :)

Busy, busy lady! Bonus content--we talking a full 8x7 Wallace poster here? (Your sales just spiked 10,000%... you're welcome. LOL)

I'll be ready to repost my Strength review once it goes live again. And you can count on me for the W4Ws & promoting the sale, as well. Hang tight!

LOL...great entries, especially the third one. I just laughed out loud (for real) and my wife popped her head in asking what was so funny.

I got an eyeroll out of it, but it was worth it :D

I want to know what September 2 is all about.... Hmmm... I guess patience will have to be a virtue. Looks like you've got some great things happening.

Well, you know what my current hap is: Publishing my book Felicite Found. So excited. :D

My vote goes to #2. Oh wait, I think I hosted one of those already.

Good luck with your re-release! It really seems like indie is the wave of the future for writers who don't fit into the current commercial mode.

My nursery campers would probably be game for the first blogfest! I'm so twisted for finding some of their accidents hilarious, in hindsight, after the disgusting ordeal of seeing them and helping to clean them up.

Hey Carrie,

Thank you for your participation in the anti-blogfest and your three non-choices. The first one is crap. The second one I'm living that dream. The third one I'm a master at and I have been known to be so boring that when I read my own stuff, which is rare, I fall asleep. I certainly wouldn't follow my own site.

Delighted to see you are getting re-released, Carrie. The writer's parole board must have been swayed by your charm. Ignore me.

Being such a nice guy, I will share this on 'Farcebook'. Oh I note that photo of me is still on your book. LOL?

Thanks for being part of the irony.

Gary :)

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

There really is a site where you talk about your last potty sensation? Meanwhile, Gary is da Man, our very own anti-farcebook and righteous dude!

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Liesel! I love how you linked directly to your post. That made things so much easier. <3

Good luck with your releases, too! :D

Carrie Butler said...

Thank you, Ilima! I'll need it. :)

*Grins* Thank you, Mark!

Carrie Butler said...

I may have accidentally let it slip on Facebook a few days ago. LOL I made a page for said business, so it wouldn't be completely lifeless when I announced it, and forgot most of my friends over there are writers. *grins*

And woohoo! Congratulations on Felicite Found!

Carrie Butler said...

D'aww... thanks, Donna! :D

Phew! Thanks, Trisha. :D

Hah! Thank you, Leigh. :D

Carrie Butler said...

Eek! I hope not. LOL

Carrie Butler said...

Hey Gary,

Hah! You're quite welcome.

Ah, yes. The writer's parole board was very lenient. I mentioned your name, and they seemed well acquainted with you...

And you bet! You're America's favorite body double. :D

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Carrie-Anne! I'll definitely need it. :)

LOL Hey, we have to find humor where we can.

Carrie Butler said...

Gosh, I hope not! LOL And yes, Gary is the man of the week. :D

Carrie Butler said...

And the slightest bit terrifying! *grins* Thank you!

Carrie Butler said...

Thanks, Jess! I appreciate it. :D

I have a major convention coming up. Being security minded, I don't mention it ahead of time, since that makes it obvious I won't be home.

Carrie Butler said...

Good call, Mark! :) I hope you have fun at your convention!

I wouldn't join those fests either; nicely done. Good luck with your tour! W4WS is a great way for writers to help each other out -- and we sure need all the help we can get.
